To us, winter means coming to a warm home, sipping nice hot drinks during the day, making healthy soups to fight the cold and buying cosy blankets to stay warm. Now let’s move to a different part of the world where the scenario is completely different. People sleeping rough in tents or streets feeling hopeless and helpless, the sky is their roof and the ground is their bed. They have nothing to fill their stomachs with and nothing to keep themselves or their children warm. Teebah Foundation’s main objective is to ensure that every human being is warm during the winter season. We believe that if we put hands together we will end the suffering in Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Rohingya Refugees.
It is narrated by Ibn Mubarak that Omar Ibn Al-Khattab (RA) would be extra mindful and would write to the companions, advising: “Winter… has come, so prepare for it with wool, leather socks, and socks. Use wool as your under-clothing and outer-clothing, because cold is an enemy* that enters quickly but leaves slowly.” (Lataif Al-Maarif, 330)
Who will benefit from this project?
Those who are in dire need of warmth to stay alive, particularly those who fled their countries seeking refuge and security. Those little children who wear one layer in minus degree temperatures. Those elderly who are about to give up on life. Those parents who are in constant fear and concern for their children’s survival. Those who are on the streets counting the days and praying for some sunshine.
