2025 Competition Theme:
“Bring Gaza’s Lessons to Life Through Your Words”
This year’s Muslim Writers Award invites writers aged 16+ to explore one of the most defining human stories of our time, Gaza. Through poetry, fiction, essays, commentary, or scriptwriting, we encourage you to reflect on the lessons, emotions, questions, and truths that Gaza has brought to the world.
This theme is not about politics alone, it is about humanity, resilience, faith, and the universal struggle for justice and dignity.
Your entry can explore:
-
Stories of courage and perseverance
-
Lessons about compassion, unity, and empathy
-
Reflections on injustice and the global responsibility to stand for truth
-
Personal or imagined narratives inspired by the people of Gaza
-
Faith-rooted insights on hope, patience, and strength
-
The impact of war on families, identity, and the human spirit
-
The voices that are often unheard
-
What Gaza has taught you, about yourself, your community, or the world
You may write from any angle, personal, emotional, symbolic, reflective, or imaginative. The theme is broad enough to embrace creativity, but clear enough to inspire meaningful, impactful writing.
Why This Theme?
Gaza’s story is not only a headline, it is a living lesson of resilience, faith, community, and human endurance. Through your writing, we hope to:
-
Honour the lived experiences of its people
-
Amplify lessons the world must not forget
-
Encourage thoughtful, compassionate storytelling
-
Give space to voices that wish to reflect, process, or inspire
The aim is to create a literary space where writers connect deeply with themes of justice, humanity, and spiritual resilience.
Your Voice Matters
This is your invitation to contribute to a meaningful body of work that preserves lessons for generations.
All submissions in Short Fiction, Poetry, Creative Non-Fiction, and Scriptwriting (Stage/Screen) are evaluated with care and attention.
